We’re off to Florence and Chianti today and if the forecast is true, we’ll be exploring both in the rain. Any tips and can’t miss sights, rain or shine? I was hoping to debut two new vintage dresses under the Tuscan sun (had to go there) but at least cobblestone and old buildings look beautifully dramatic when they’re all wet. Wish I could say the same for me and my frizzy hair…
Have a wonderful Easter weekend. Eat lots of chocolate and if you’re down with Peeps, eat a box or two for me ;)
Arrivederci! See you back here on Tuesday.

Florence is such an amazing city. I studied abroad there for a semester in college. One of my favorite places to eat was this little deli called Salumeria Verdi (I believe it’s on Via Verdi), they serve the most AMAZING sandwiches and panini’s plus a glass of chianti is like 3 Euros. The owner, Pino, will most likely be there to make your sandwich and if you remember, ask him about the wine tastings he hosts at his wine shop which is just around the corner (they’re by reservation only but so worth the intimate experience). Also, you must go to GROM…best gelato I think, although most people will argue that Vivoli is better. And lastly, if you happen to visit Sienna, make reservations at a restaurant called Marlborghetto earlier in the day for dinner and order the angel hair truffle pasta…best pasta I have ever eaten! Have so much fun!
Never been to Chianti but we sure did love Florence – the Uffizi Gallery was a highlight with rooftop lunch afterward. Lots of other stuff that I can’t remember….but no matter you do or don’t see you’ll have a blast. Oh, and bring a cute headscarf for your hair – I love that trick! ;)
