Hello, how was your weekend? If you’re stuck in the heatwave in the States then I hope you stayed cool and hydrated! If you’re in London, we saw the up and down weather via Wimbledon – I hope you get full summer days soon!
We enjoyed our first BBQ at home and finally made it out to Ikea for some essentials. It was so nice to have our own little fourth of July weekend experience. We even got to see a small fireworks show from our apartment courtesy of a corporate celebration nearby. As for Ikea, unfortunately none of the major items did it for us so the hunt for a rug, floor lamp, and desk chair continues. But, we’re happy to wait until something we really like comes around…it’s our space and we have to love it, albeit it being temporary. It was a perfect home weekend.

Longing for some summer! Hopefully August gets better. Want to plan a trip to the seaside but I suppose it wouldn’t be an English seaside trip without rain.
being close to the ocean will be nice enough, no matter the weather!
I love that you grilled hotdogs and had your own little 4th. :)
doing what we can to make this place home! it was SO nice.
looks delish!
I have the exactly the same towels as yours in your first picture!!
But the difference is that………….my parents use them as facial towels…….hahaha
Have a nice week :)
haha they’re very functional towels. do you know what they say, the non-english part? i just love the simplicity of them.
Of course I do =D
It’s written in Traditional Chinese and I’m from Taiwan!
They should be read from right to left and basically they just mean the same as the English part, ha, simple right?
I gotta find someday to take photos of my father’s old towels with Chinese characters and share them with you……..well, if I can find them…….
I guess I could have assumed as much! thanks for translating and for the pronunciation – so fun! i gotta practice it….
It occurred to me that I can tell you how to pronounce them.
As I said they should be read from right to left, respectively they are Zhu(祝) Jun(君) Zao(早) An(安).
Now you can speak Chinese! And you can say that to Joe in the morning. Must be fun :D
Ah your weekend looks heavenly! Loving how good that ginger beer looks. Hope you’re having an amazing time in KL x
it was very good – one of the best I’ve had yet. KL is getting better everyday!
Ahhhh! That little turtle is so darn adorable! Your whole spread looks amazingly delish – and so American. ;)

Hi Ana. Love these pics. Your style is great. The towels in first pic make me smile. I have them too, tons! They are a staple of the region and so sweet right?! Happy July xo
